Scope
To develop a prototype interactive learning module in the form of a serious game to support perioperative self-care education for orthognathic surgery patients and their caregivers.
Background
Patients recovering from orthognathic surgery typically face a two-month at-home recovery period. Without proper perioperative education, many struggle with complex care routines. Even well-educated caregivers often report low confidence in managing post-surgical needs such as pain control, oral hygiene, and monitoring facial swelling.
Project Goal
This project aims to create a serious game that simulates real-life caregiving scenarios, allowing users to practice self-care decision-making through role-play. Tasks will align with key learning goals to guide users through common post-surgical situations.
